Sawyer’s Path Tarot
I welcome you to take a Journey through the Tarot with me.
This deck has been over 2 years in the making, the journey began in the winter of 2015.
It started when I was asked to do a 2 of cups as a tattoo, drawing it in my style. I had such a fun time with that piece that I decided to draw the ever independent, Queen of Swords. Then it hit me, "Did I just start drawing my deck?" and like that for the next 2-3 weeks each night after work I was sketching, researching, sketching more and refining my ideas. Within 2 months, I had them all dialed in to what I liked; playful, fun yet still paying homage to the standing traditions of Tarot. Using classic symbolism that can be found in older decks, yet adding my twist. Then the task of applying color to make them come to life was underway... I must admit at first I was full wind in my sails, but then life starts happening and I stalled a little bit. Chipping away at a card here and there, it wasn't until I decided to take a social media break before the end of 2017 that I was able to color the last 40 cards within a week's time.
I knew when the cards were meant to be finished they would, I was merely the conduit for their creation. I felt like what a marathoner must feel when the finish line is in sight!
I live a life full of color, to me it is not just black and white- if you look at life, truly look at it, you'll see all the shades of the rainbow.
Sawyer's Path- A Tarot Journey offers the silver lining to any and all situations. Even when the "hard" cards come out- there is still a peace or calm in the knowing that this too shall pass. Albeit, right now you may truly be feeling it. It is my intention that through the imagery and artwork of these cards; along with trusting your intuition, a clarity will be found where you seek answers or guidance.
Sawyer's Path was created simply because I wanted a copy, I never thought it would be as widely received or as welcomed as it has been. I'm beyond grateful. I realize that my artwork may not speak to everyone, however for those that do welcome it into their collection, I thank you and truly hope you enjoy your "Stroll along Sawyer's Path."
*Please note, that the cards are not labeled. I did this for a variety of reasons, but mostly because, I didn't want the names to take away from the card's full art work. The Major Arcana do have the numbers on them,as they were included in the design process, however the Minors do not.
Whether you are a seasoned reader or a novice, I hope that my colorful journey becomes a quick favorite in your collection.
